Gratitude - the Food of Soul
It's time for my periodical gratitude list. It definitely keeps my attitude in check - so here goes: My computer is gone, but was replaced without much ado. My car still works. My cat is well. I still have an income, roof over my head, food on the table, a place to lay my head at night, I'm surrounded by people who are able to smile easily - it warms my heart - I still believe there is goodness, love, and kindness in the universe, and am able to experience it in my life. I am able to see, hear, know, be and do. I am still able to wonder at the miracle of life and intelligence, and am still able to experience real joy and love in the presence and life of my fellow beings.

That's a great list, Betsy and for the most part I am grateful for a similar list of things - though sadly, I don't have a cat at present! But I am also very angry about the number of people who don't have these things and who will suffer even more as a result of the ideological 'cuts' are government is making. What planet are they on?
ReplyDeleteThe planet of the politicians!
ReplyDeleteI think the video clip I've posted on my blog today says it all :(
ReplyDeleteWell put, Betsy! We would all do well to remember those people (cats included), places, and things that enrich our lives as often as possible.
ReplyDeleteAs to Judy Adamson's comments - our government spends 59 percent of the budget on war related pursuits, six percent on educating our children, and six percent on healthcare. And, one side of the political spectrum would cut the education and healthcare spending further. Pathetic!
Also, thanks for your comment about my "Peace in the sand" photograph. I will send that to Lighthouse Center along with the mixed media distressed painting.
I added myself to follow your blog. You are more than welcome to visit mine and become a follower if you want to.
ReplyDeleteGod Bless You :-)
